When co-workers become good friends.

The film industry can be a fickle thing, actors encounter actors years apart with a "lets do a thing" approach to life, but for three former Holby stars that's exactly what happened. So when former co-stars and real life wife and husband team Sarah-Jane Potts and Joseph Milson decided to make the incredibly thoughtful The Magician, it seemed there was only one man for a certain role and that was their form colleague Bob Barrett who played the role of Sacha Levy for 14 years.

Sarah Jane-Potts has been acting on television since 1989 but only last year decided to take the plunge of making her directorial debut in story she penned herself. When it came to the producer of the film it seemed only reasonable for Potts husband Joseph Milson to take the role, Milson himself played Luc Hemmingway on the show from 2011-2013.

Having decided to write and direct the story, Sarah then took on the role as a woman on the edge contemplating her demise at a train station, but faced with her own end sometimes requires a little more thought, enter The Magician.

There was much chatter about The Magician from this years selections team,  partly because of its ability to tell a tale in its simplest form, creating so many questions, so much discussion. The skill of the direction, the beauty of the cinematography and the wonderful performances from the films only two actors Potts and Barrett.

You can catch The Magician on Friday 20th May alongside Candle Cops from BAFTA winning Tony Collingwood and the quirky mockumentary St Baptiste's from festival friend John Williams.

Sarah Jane Potts, Bob Barrett and Joseph Milson are all expected to be in attendance work permitting for a Q&A at the end of the entire session.
